Tristan-Olivier Breiding est un concepteur d’éclairage par métier après avoir poursuivi une éducation formelle en création et production à l’École Nationale de Théâtre du Canada et un Baccalauréat en Théâtre à l’Université d’Ottawa. Élevé comme franco-ontarien et maintenant basé à Montréal, son travail lui amène souvent à voyager et sur son temps libre il utilise sa caméra et/ou marqueurs à base d’alcool, stylo d’encre et des touches de peintures et de crayons afin de capturer les endroits qu’Il a visité ou pour se rapprocher de la maison. Ces illustrations hyper-détaillé mais coloré invite le récepteur à ralentir et réfléchir pour observer l’interaction et intersection entre la nature, les espaces urbains et les gens interagissent ou habite ces lieux. Dans cette société en mouvement perpétuelle, son travail cherche à inspirer un sentiment de paix chez son public tout en évoquant subtilement des thèmes d’écologie et de décroissance. Le panoplie des paysages urbain international encourage une ouverture au monde tandis que sa sélection d’illustration du Québec et du Canada encourage une appréciation de notre identité à travers nos paysages variées.

Tristan-Olivier Breiding is a lighting designer by trade after pursuing a formal education in creation and production at the National Theatre School of Canada and a B.A. in Theatre at the University of Ottawa. Raised as a Franco-Ontarian and now based in Montreal, his work brings him to travel frequently and on his off time he uses his camera and/or alcohol based markers, inks pens and touches of paint or wax crayons to capture the many locations he has visited whilst on the road or to bring himself closer to home. His hyper-detailed yet colorful illustrations invite the viewer to take a moment to pause and reflect whilst observing how nature and urban spaces intersect through the people that interact and inhabit these spaces. In this evermoving society, his work hopes to instill a sense of peace within the viewer all while subtlety invoking themes of ecology and degrowth. The many international urban landscapes can encourage an openness to the world whilst the selection of illustrations of Québec and Canada encourages an appreciation of our identity through our different landscapes.
